My name is Leila Najim and I am a yoga practitioner and teacher. In this website you will find information about my personal yoga journey, my events schedule and how to get in touch with me. I am currently located in Milan, Italy, and I teach Sattva, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin and Prenatal yoga.

I am a yogini and a warrior of light. Having chosen love, dignity and courage to honor the Truth, I support human evolution and celebration of life by spreading empowering and self-healing yogic techniques coming from the Tantric and Vedantic Tradition with the people that cross my path.

My commitment is to practices that invite our deepest self-exploration and invest in our shared well-being.

About yoga and my journey

Yoga is a science designed to awaken each practitioner to their True nature through the healing, alignment and enlightenment of the body, mind and soul.

Yoga has its roots in the timeless Vedantic and Tantric Traditions of the Himalayan Masters. I was blessed to learn the yoga science from the great master Anand Mehrotra at Sattva Yoga Academy at the foothills of the Himalayas, in India. Sattva Yoga is a unified teaching combining timeless practices and techniques in a powerful way. Practicing this radically holistic discipline allows one to merge physical activity, transcendental wisdom, devotion and correct action in every moment of existence for a fully conscious, expanding and fulfilling life. Sattva yoga is the practice of the whole science of yoga, including the practice of asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathwork), meditation, kriyas (that are evolutionary actions that lead to the release of bio-memory, allowing deep healing at a cellular level), mantra (chanting), mudras (energy seals) and bhandas (energy muscular locks). 

This integrated discipline aims to bring the mind, the body and the soul in perfect alignment and balance to allow connection and unity with our higher nature. These practices allow one to understand the functioning of the mind and unconscious behaviors, refine the intellect and become a witness of the thoughts, actions and ego. They also increase strength, build vitality and create mental clarity leading one toward inner silence and stillness, the space of infinite potential.

Yoga is the art of self-dominion and cessation of movement in the consciousness. Through self-knowledge and self-mastery, it increases both body and mind awareness. The practice of yoga enables us to move the awareness within and help us to raise our state of consciousness through self-observation. It increases awareness, evolves the individual consciousness and expands collective consciousness. In the silence of pure consciousness, awareness moves within itself, the attention is no longer external, but rather the subject becomes the object and through self-observation attains self-realization. 

Lower tendencies, such as ignorance, lethargy, greed and the lack of honor, gratitude and love, erode the integrity of our existence. To be a yogi and a warrior of light means to live not in the illusion of peace, but going fearlessly at war with one’s own demons and fears and emerge victorious from this internal battle. Freedom is a state of self-dominion that is attained when one’s own fears and demons are shred and embraced by the light of our consciousness and dissolved through the power of self-love, forgiveness and gratitude and by simply surrendering to Truth.

Yoga is ultimately a state of being, an experience of being and a way of life. In Sanskrit, the word yoga means union and a life of yoga is a life of unity resulting in a natural state of bliss and freedom.

About Prenatal Yoga

I’ve got interested in prenatal yoga inspired by the idea of seeing future generations growing in healthy environments by conscious parents. Teaching yoga to pregnant women means not only to support women in stepping fearlessly and gracefully into the unknown, the realm of motherhood, but to introduce them to healthy practices that they can share and teach to the new generation. 

Prenatal yoga is a space where pregnant women are guided in practicing yoga safely, but are also inspired to connect with their bodies, their babies and their creative energy, to trust in themselves and to listen to their intuition. 

Yoga during pregnancy has many benefits including increased strength, flexibility and endurance needed during childbirth, breath awareness, increased trust in oneself and in others, stronger intuition and connection to the baby, reduced stress and improved sleep.

Sound Healing

Everything you see around you is vibrating at one frequency or another, and so are you. When we go down on a subatomic level we find pure energy, not matter, as science, through Quantum Physics, is confirming. The Law of Vibration, foundation for the Law of Attraction, states that everything in the Universe moves and vibrates. Nothing rests. Because our frequency is different from the one of the things that surround us, we have the impression we are separated from what we see. The truth is there is no separation, we all are part of the energy movement and vibration composing a universal symphony. 

Also sound is all about vibrations. To make sound, something has to vibrate. Sound waves consist of vibrating particles, which knock into other particles, causing those particles to vibrate and knock into more particles, and so on and so forth.

Music therapy is a holistic healing technique that promotes wellness using healing frequencies and vibrations with the goal of removing existing disease symptoms or unhealthy patterns and of promoting positive growth and development. The practice of sound healing is based on the idea of dissonance of internal vibrations of the receiver and of bringing harmony to the internal frequencies through external sounds and vibrations. Music therapy has wide beneficial effects both on the body and on the psyche. Among others, we highlight the release of blockages and tension in the body, the increase in vital energy (prana), the development of a profound sense of presence, expansion, balance, peace, clarity and harmony.

Receptive music therapy with Tibetan bowls is a session of sounds and vibrations. The Tibetan singing bowls are tuned to the sacred and primordial sound OM and whoever receives the session is enveloped by deep sounds and vibrations that have the power to harmonize and rebalance the physical and energetic bodies. Whoever receives a session of sound bath or vibrational massage experiences a deep internal harmonization based on processes and dynamics typical of the bowls (resonances, frequencies, vibrations, interactions between fields of vibrations etc.) with effects on energy systems such as chakras and kosha (basic concepts of the yogic philosophy).
